Olare Motorogi Conservancy protects exceptional wildlife populations including all Big Five, resident predators, and seasonal migration herds in one of Kenya's most exclusive safari destinations.
Lions & Leopards
Multiple lion prides inhabit the conservancy with famous groups regularly photographed by wildlife filmmakers. Leopards frequent riverine forests and rocky kopjes with several habituated individuals allowing close viewing. Night drives significantly increase leopard sighting opportunities as these nocturnal cats become active after dark.
Cheetahs
Open grasslands provide ideal cheetah habitat. Several coalitions and solitary females hunt across the conservancy. Morning drives often reveal cheetahs surveying from termite mounds or resting under acacia shade after overnight hunts.
Migration Spectacle
July through October brings massive wildebeest and zebra herds—over 1.5 million animals. Witness dramatic Mara River crossings, predator-prey interactions, and endless herds stretching across plains. The conservancy's Mara River frontage provides excellent crossing viewpoints without main reserve crowds.
Other Wildlife
Elephants, buffalo herds, Masai giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, spotted hyenas, and diverse antelope (topi, impala, Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, eland) create rich ecosystems. Black rhinos occur in low densities with rare but possible sightings.
