Kandili Camp
An authentic eco-friendly safari camping experience, Kandili Camp is located in the famous Masai Mara and offers an authentic nature-rich safari experience. The camp is run on solar power with a simplistic yet subtle comfort vibe present throughout. Blending in with its surroundings, Kandili Camp was created with preservation in mind, working with the local environment and communities to offer visitors a truly unique down to earth wilderness adventure.
Meals can be enjoyed inside the dining tent or weather-permitting, outside under the acacia trees. A small lounge and library invite guests in to rest between safari experiences. Activities for children include learning how to build a traditional Masai Mara home or embark on educational walks while older guests can enjoy cultural chats and village visits.
Location
Kandili Camp can be found 10 minutes from the Musiara gate of the Masai Mara. It is situated on a 200 hectare private conservancy, the Leopard Gorge Conservancy, with a key focus on preserving the surrounding landscape and nature. Views of Oloololo escarpment and Masai Mara savanna can be enjoyed from the camp.
Rooms / Tents
The eleven luxury tents at Kandili Camp offer African-themed decor of neutral colors with splashes of oranges and reds complimenting the natural brown of the furniture in each room. Tents are divided between six standard tents, three superior tents and two suites. The classic standard tents offer double, twin, triple and single bedding with en-suite solar-powered bathrooms with hot and cold running water. Power outlets can be found in each tent with a reading table and lantern side lamps provided for guests.
The superior tents are perfect for that romantic getaway with uninterrupted views of the Leopard Gorge from the tent. Double vanity plus the option to open the shower up to views of the surrounding savannah are other popular reasons guests choose these tents. The two spacious suites feature examples of Swahili art displayed in the bedroom and separate living room which boasts a small reading area. The large terrace is perfect for private dining followed by a nightcap perhaps around the private outdoor fire pit.
