Mara Intrepids Camp

Possibly one of the best locations for a safari experience in the Masai Mara, the Mara Intrepids Camp offers a four-star luxury experience in the middle of a prime game viewing location. Views over the Talek and Mara Rivers are spectacular and the stillness of the surrounding wilderness is simply magic. Guests will enjoy meals under a large, thatch-roofed ceiling, the sides of the dining area open, and the classic wooden beams create a warm, African ambiance. There is a lounge and bar for those moments in between game drives offering an alternative to spending time in your tent.

For guests looking to cool down a little, the inviting swimming pool lies neatly among trees and bush and guests can treat themselves to a spa treatment or manicures and pedicures. The 30 tented suites are beautifully positioned along the Talek River and offer a private stay amid the African wilderness. The camp is fenced so this is the ideal destination for safari-going families. Children are invited to learn all about the Masai Mara through safari lectures by qualified guides.

Location

Mara Intrepids Camp is located along the banks of the Talek River in the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, only half a mile from the Ol Kiombo Airstrip. Flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport will take 45 minutes while driving from Nairobi will take around five hours along the A104 Highway.

Rooms / Tents

Mara Intrepids Camp comprises 30 spacious canvas tents, each around 280 sq feet in size. Each tent is set on a raised wooden platform with a private verandah and offers brilliant views over the Talek River stretched out in front of them. Bedding can be made up as double with a King Size Bed, twin with two Single Beds, a triple which will comprise a King Size bed and two Single beds and one large Queen Size bed for a single guest. All tents are designed to offer a cozy, comfortable stay, with mosquito nets covering the beds and decor of light beiges and whites with splashes of red and golden yellows. The bathrooms are en-suite and have a shower, vanity and toilet.

Places Of Interest

Game drives take place in the magnificent Masai Mara in the early morning and late afternoon. Your safari guide introduces you to the wonders of the wilderness as it slowly comes to life in the morning and the calm in the evening as the bush seemingly settles down. Drive into the Mara Triangle for a chance to spot the “Big Five” animals (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino) and many other plains game as the area is rich with wildlife. Guests can also step into the world of the Masai tribe with a visit to a local Masai Mara village during their stay at the Mara Intrepids Camp.
