Mara Explorer Camp
The Mara Explorer Camp may be considered as one of the ultimate five-star camping experiences in the magnificent Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is laid out along the Talek River and offers incredible game-viewing opportunities as animals frequent the water’s edge throughout the day. Guests can enjoy these views and some quality downtime in the cozy lounge and bar area, the decor and artifacts reflecting local Masai culture and tradition.
Meals are enjoyed under a canvas tent with cuisine created with local ingredients picked from the camp’s herb and vegetable garden. There is an option to enjoy a bush breakfast along the river bank or a private bush dinner under the stars. The camp’s focus on sustainability is carried through in the setup and location of the 10 luxury tents, including water heated by coffee husk and local materials used throughout the camp. Guests can choose to relax with a massage on their private deck, the soft sounds of the surrounding bush possibly lulling them to sleep.
Location
The Mara Explorer Camp lies on the eastern border of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in the Ol Kiombo, with views over the Talek River a definite draw.
