Mara Ngenche Safari Camp

With a prime position on a lush, V-shaped stretch of land located at the convergence of the Talek and Mara Rivers, the Mara Ngenche Safari Camp offers an amazing safari experience. The camp is surrounded by wonders from tranquil waters to the sound of wallowing hippos. Guests can sit back and enjoy views over the river of wildlife passing by from the comfort of the open-sided lounge area or while enjoying a meal in the camp’s main dining area. The hippo pool located just in front of the camp is a great venue for viewing hippo frolicking activities!

The camp is not fenced, which means animals can walk through the camp at any time, so guests are escorted back to their luxury tents at night. Guests can expect to hear and see movement now and then as the animals make their way among the 12 luxury tents, an experience that truly submerges you in the bush. While there is no main swimming pool, each tent has its own private plunge pool, and guests can opt to have a spa treatment or massage on the comfort of their private deck.

Location

Located at the point where the Talek and Mara River converge, the Mara Ngenche Safari Camp is set out between two rivers in the Masai Mara National Park. The nearest airstrip is the Ol Kiombo Airstrip which is a one-hour flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, and transfers to the camp take around half an hour. For guests preferring to drive from Nairobi, this will take approximately five hours.

Rooms / Tents

12 beautiful and large tents, around 581 sq feet in size, are set on raised platforms with a private deck that offers outstanding views over tranquil waters and roaming wildlife. The camp is unfenced so animals can roam amongst the tents at any time, a spectacular sight from the cooling waters of your private plunge pool. All tents offer a four-poster bed that can be set up as King Size or two Queen Size beds. There is a comfortable sitting area and table. All tents have electricity and heating, WiFi and the option of in-room dining.

The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and have a double vanity and ball-and-claw bathtub. The bathroom opens up to an enclosed boma area where there is an outdoor shower, an exciting and unique experience.
