Mara Siria Camp

Set up on the Siria Escarpment, the Mara Siria Camp offers guests some of the best panoramic views over the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The main area comprises a large tent where delicious meals are served and a comfortable lounge is open throughout the day and evening for guests to unwind and share tales of their safari experiences. Guests can enjoy a drink at the small bar and take a look inside the humble gift shop.

A small and beautifully set swimming pool is perched between rocks, overlooking captivating views of the savannah and Mara River. The 13 tents and 2 cottages offer subtle luxury in an incredible setting, all commanding wonderful views. The camp is unfenced so animals are free to roam throughout the camp at any time. Solar power gives electricity to the Mara Siria Camp.

Location

Located around 4.5 miles from the Oloolo Gate, the Mara Siria Camp is ideally situated in the Masai Mara National Park. Safari-goers can fly in from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport which will take approximately 45 minutes. Arriving at the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip, guests are met and transferred on a 20-minute safari drive to Mara Siria Camp. If visitors prefer to drive from Nairobi, the drive will take approximately five hours.

Rooms / Tents

Mara Siria Camp comprises 13 tents and two cottages. Eight Luxury Tents can be made up with a king-size bed, and three Deluxe Tents offer king-size beds or can be made up as a Twin Tent with two single beds. There are two further Luxury Tents that are perfect for twin-share reservations and the two Luxury Cottages are round in shape with king-size bed setup. All tents and cottages offer a private verandah with stunning views over the Mara River and the open plains of the Mara Triangle.

Each space offers a comfortable sitting area with the surrounding wilderness right outside your entrance. Tents are canvas, decorated in khakis with red Masai blankets spread out on the beds. The red-painted walls of the cottage ‘Rondavels’, round in shape, add a brilliant contrast to the greens and browns of the surrounding bush. En-suite bathrooms in all accommodation types include a sink, shower and toilet, with basic amenities for guests to use during their stay.

Places Of Interest

Game viewing is the key activity when staying at the Mara Siria Camp. Whether in an enclosed 4×4 vehicle on early morning, afternoon, and even night drives or led by a qualified guide who will walk the plains and along river banks in search of resident wildlife. Bird watching is spectacular here with over 600 species to be found.

From a different point of view, guests can soar above the Masai Mara in a Hot Air Balloon. Horse riding, mountain biking and hiking are other wonderful adventures to enjoy when staying at Mara Siria Camp and guests can pay a visit to a Masai Mara Cultural village nearby.
