Nyikani Migration Camp

Nyikani Migration Camp

The Nyikani Migration Camp boasts two locations, the Ndutu region in the South in the summer, and the Kogatende region in the North during the winter. The camp is humble in design offering comfortable and elegant accommodation in 12 safari tents, all overlooking the incredible expanse of the Serengeti plains. The main dining area is set up with dining tables and chairs and a crackling fire is lit in a small fire pit where guests can gather in the evenings and share stories of their day on safari.

Each location is carefully chosen to ensure that game activities including bush walks, hot air ballooning and game drives, take place close by and offer a world of wildlife wonder in true East African wilderness. The team is at your beck and call and each meal is created by talented chefs and presented beautifully.

Location

Nyikani Migration Camp is set up at the Old Ndutu campsite in the Ndutu region in Southern Serengeti between December and April, a five-minute drive from the Ndutu Airstrip. In the winter months of May to November, the camp moves to the Machwechwe campsite in the Kogatende region in the Northern Serengeti. The drive from the Kogatende airstrip is a journey of around 25 minutes.

Flying from Arusha to Ndutu will take around 90 minutes while the flight from Arusha to Kogatende will take two hours and forty-five minutes.

Rooms / Tents

There are 12 standard and spacious tents set up at Nyikani Migration Camp, all equipped with Double or Twin beds. The dark green canvas tents have a small sitting area and a writing desk and chair and have light curtains covering the canvas windows. The tents are private, all spaced between 50 and 65 ft apart, and all offer views over the Serengeti from a covered verandah. The bedding is crisp, white linen with black and brown-patterned present in throws and pillows.

There is an in-room safety deposit box for guests to store their valuables in during their stay, and each morning, a butler will wake guests up with either tea or coffee presented on a tray. The bathrooms are all en-suite and have a beautifully set up double vanity and toilet, plus a safari-style bucket set up when guests are ready to shower. Guests have use of modern bathroom amenities during their stay.
