This safari tour explores the picturesque landscape of Tsavo West National Park with opportunities for scenic game drives. The tour then proceeds to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, where additional wildlife viewing experiences await.

All game drives and transfers are conducted in a private pop-up top safari minivan. A 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep with pop-up roof is available at an additional cost for enhanced comfort and off-road performance.

This tour is ideal for viewing a variety of wildlife, birdlife, breathtaking landscapes, and engaging with local cultures. Accommodation is available in a wide range of economy, standard, or luxury lodges and tented camps – you choose according to your style and budget.

 3-Day Safari Itinerary: Tsavo West & Amboseli

Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo West National Park (240 km, approx. 5–6 hrs)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

Early pick-up from your beach resort or Mombasa Island hotel. Begin your journey to Tsavo West National Park – one of Kenya’s most scenic wildlife destinations. Enjoy en-route game viewing as you head towards your lodge/camp for check-in and lunch. Afternoon game drives offer your first chance to spot African wildlife and take in the dramatic landscapes of Tsavo West.

Day 2: Tsavo West – Amboseli National Park (100 km, approx. 2.5 hrs)

Start your morning with an early game drive as the sun rises, offering a magical opportunity to witness the natural world awaken in the cool of the morning. Visit the Mzima Springs – a lush oasis where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish, and numerous bird species. The contrast of the green surroundings of Mzima against the rugged terrain of Tsavo West is breathtaking.

Afterwards, depart for Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. After check-in and lunch at your lodge/camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famed for its large herds of elephants and incredible photographic opportunities, especially with Mount Kilimanjaro as a scenic backdrop. Weather permitting, the mountain’s snow-capped peak may emerge through the clouds in the late afternoon, offering unforgettable views.

Day 3: Amboseli – Mombasa (430 km, approx. 7 hrs with lunch stop)

Rise early to witness the dramatic sunrise and—if lucky—the clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro’s majestic peak. After breakfast, depart Amboseli with a short exit game drive. En-route to Mombasa, stop for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Tsavo East plains, offering a final chance to absorb the stunning Kenyan wilderness. Arrive in Mombasa by late afternoon or early evening.
