Mara Plains Camp

Mara Plains Camp

Mara Plains Camp, On a bend in the Ntiakitiak River, Mara Plains Camp is hidden by a thick forest. It’s in the 35,000-acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy and borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara Reserve. The camp itself, Mara Plains, is a beautiful and personal experience in one of the world’s most famous wildlife locations. The design and decor honor what East Africa is all about. For example, big wooden doors from the island of Lamu show Swahili heritage, and red accents honor the great Maasai chiefs and warriors. With the deep leathers, copper, and brass used in campaign-style furniture, you can create a luxurious yet cozy space that doesn’t take away from the natural beauty around you. This camp is a place where people from different countries can come together to talk, share ideas, and have experiences like the ones you will have here every day.

Mara Plains is one of only five camps in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. It has unrestricted access to more than 100,000 acres of private land, which is perfect for many animal species and also gives it access to the 375,000-acre Maasai Mara Reserve. “As someone who has spent their whole life studying predators, I think the Mara plains are the best place in Africa.” When I go outside, I often can’t decide between the leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and lions for an hour or two.

There are elephants on the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy, which is 35,000 acres and borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve to the north. This is in the southwest of Kenya.
