Location
Olkiombo Airstrip which lies just north of the Talek River in the Masai Mara, is less than one hour away from the Mara Crossing Camp for guests flying in from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Guests traverse the wilderness and should be on the lookout for wildlife en route to their luxury accommodations. Guests who wish to drive from Nairobi will embark on a five-hour journey in a luxury 4×4 vehicle.
Rooms / Tents
Mara Crossing Camp presents eight large, luxury suites that can be made up of four Double Rooms and four Twin or Triple Rooms. Each tent is elegantly decorated in soft creams and light beiges and browns, scattered rugs add a pop of color and decor comprises local artifacts mixed with practical additions such as side lamps and storage for clothing. The tents are set on a raised deck and all offer views of the Mara River. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and vanity and necessary bath amenities.

Besides the daily game drives that take place before the sun rises and later in the day, concluding when the sun sets, guests staying at the Mara Crossing Camp can enjoy a night drive too, the chance to spot nocturnal favorites such as porcupine and civet. Nature walks and guided bush treks through the surrounding wilderness invite guests to take in the tiny wonders and miracles the Masai Mara has to offer.
Guests visiting during the Great Migration months of July and late September/October are in the most ideal location for a chance to witness the dramatic crossing of thousands of wildebeest as they cross between Kenya and Tanzania.
