Since the hotel is on a hill, it has a great view of the coffee fields and the Ngorongoro Highlands Forest Reserve that are nearby.

It is easy to get to Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, and Lake Eyasi from the Highview Hotel. Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Lake Natron Area are all longer trips.

You can take a day trip from Karatu to a coffee farm, the culture center of the Iraqw tribe, or the southern Ngorongoro forest for a hike.

The Highview Hotel opened in 2006 and has many modern features. It has a large indoor and outdoor garden, a restaurant serving local and continental food, 41 rooms in the main building, a lounge with a bar and fireplace, a gift shop with entertainment and internet access, a spa with massages and a modern swimming pool.

140 km (two to three hours’ drive) from Arusha on a road that only works in good weather that goes through Makuyuni, Mtowambu, and Karatu. It takes 45 minutes to get from Arusha Airport to Lake Manyara Airstrip. The hotel is 10 km from Manyara Airstrip, and “meet and greet” and transport services are available (please let the hotel know your arrival time ahead of time).
