Satao Elerai Camp
Satao Elerai Camp
Situated in a private conservation area six miles southeast of Amboseli National Park, Elerai Camp offers a quiet safari escape in a community-focused environment,
offering spectacular views of famous Mt. Kilimanjaro. The vastness of Amboseli can be seen from the Camp while the romantic backdrop of ‘Kili’
creates the perfect location for dining under the stars. Meals are created by talented chefs who include local fruit and vegetables in their dishes.
Guests can relax on the lodge’s main deck or wallow in the infinity pool, gazing out over the surrounding bush and plains,
hoping to spot some wildlife pass by. Accommodation comprises tents and cottage rooms and ultimate privacy.
Connection to the local community is of great importance at Elerai, and so there’s an opportunity for guests to spend time with a local Maasai tribe
to discover the importance of the symbiotic relationship between man and nature.
Guests can also enjoy mountain biking and sundowner outings during their stay at Satao Elerai Camp.
Location
Satao Elerai Camp is located six miles southeast of the great Amboseli National Park, along the Kitenden Wildlife Corridor

It is a four hour drive from Nairobi and guests can choose to fly into the Amboseli National Park airstrip,
a 90-minute drive to the camp, or arrive by private charter plane at Elerai Camp’s airstrip, a short drive to the Camp.

Game Viewing / Activities
Game drives are conducted early morning and late afternoons, with an option to enjoy a full day on safari in the well-known Amboseli National Park.
The Park is a one hour drive from Satao Elerai Camp and is home to the ‘Big Five’ as well as other small game.
See an abundance of elephants roaming the hills, buffalo wallowing in muddy waters and a vast number of antelope playing hide and seek with predators.
Game drives are also offered on the private Elerai Conservancy, a quiet experience far away from the more crowded Amboseli nearby.
Game walks accompanied by knowledgeable guides and Maasai guards will give guests a more intimate experience of the bush,
while night drives in the conservancy will give nighttime safari-goers a chance to spot nocturnal wonders such as bushbabies, porcupines,
as well as serval cats and elusive leopards.
