Porini Amboseli Camp
Porini Amboseli Camp
Porini Amboseli Camp is conveniently located near the gates of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park in the Selenkay Conservancy.
Privately set-out tents are connected by a main camp area, a large tent comprising intricate wooden dining tables covered in traditional Masai table cloths,
standing on colourful carpets lying on a screeded floor. There is a small sitting area with a simple bar available and a friendly team on hand at all times.
Guests have a chance to sit around a crackling fire pit in the evenings while Masai warriors tell stories of traditions and culture.
The tents are peaceful canvas rooms looking out over the surrounding savannah with three water holes located nearby,
offering the amazing opportunity for guests to watch wildlife come to drink at any time of the day. Porini Amboseli Camp offers complimentary Wi-Fi in the camp’s main office
and a small craft shop where local souvenirs can be purchased.
Location
Porini Amboseli Camp is located in the Selenkay Conservancy, which lies just north of the popular Amboseli National Park.
Guests can fly into the Selenkay Airstrip from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, followed by a 17-mile drive to the Camp.
If guests drive from Nairobi, the journey will be along the Mombasa Road and take around four hours.
Rooms / Tents
Keeping with the traditional style of classic safari tents, the canvas rooms are simple yet tastefully decorated with wooden furniture complimenting the khaki and green walls and floor,
and colourful rugs placed around the tent floor. A beautiful light hanging down from the middle of the tent ceiling lights up the sitting and sleeping areas, both leading out to a canvas verandah,
the perfect place to sit and gaze over incredible views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
There are eight Standard Tents with either a double or single bed set up and two Family Tents which comprise two separate bedrooms with a double and a single bed in it.
Each tent is en-suite with a sink, toilet, and canvas-covered shower, all set in a spacious area.
