Safari Experience
Board the Madaraka Express train to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy elephants and other wildlife at Amboseli before venturing into the Great Rift Valley. At Lake Naivasha, experience a boat safari, followed by a guided walking safari at Crescent Island Sanctuary. Optional bicycle safari at Hell’s Gate National Park is also available.
Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park to see flamingoes, birdlife, and endangered black and white rhinos. Optionally, visit Lake Bogoria for larger flamingo flocks. On day 5, arrive at the Masai Mara National Reserve for 4 days of game drives and wildlife observation, spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and more. Optional activities include visiting a Maasai village and a hot air balloon ride.

8 Days, Discover Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa – Emali Train Station – Amboseli (100 km – Approx. 1.5 hrs drive)
Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
We’ll pick you up early from your Kenya beach hotel or residence and bring you to the Mombasa Railway Station. Depart Mombasa for Emali (near Amboseli Park) on the Madaraka Express at 0800 hrs. Enjoy scenic views passing through Tsavo East & West National Parks, possibly spotting wildlife along the way. Arrive at Emali Train Station at 10:52 hrs where your safari driver/guide will meet you and transfer you to Amboseli National Park.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy a full safari day with game drives exploring Amboseli’s rich wildlife. Start early to see wildlife in the morning light. After breakfast, search for elephants, lions, buffalo, and other wildlife. Lunch back at your accommodation, followed by optional relaxation. Observation Hill provides panoramic views and sightings of elephants, hippos, and birds such as pelicans and Egyptian goose.
Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (340 km – Approx. 6 hrs)
Early morning game viewing before departing Amboseli. Travel to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha, arriving for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon boat safari, observing hippos, birdlife, and grazing wildlife. Stretch your legs with a guided walking tour at Crescent Island Sanctuary to see zebra, impala, buffalo, giraffe, and other wildlife.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru (80 km – Approx. 1 hr)
Optional Lake Bogoria visit for larger flocks of flamingoes. Start early with a bicycle safari to Hell’s Gate National Park. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park to view ostriches, herons, eagles, and pink flamingoes. Look for lions, leopards, warthogs, zebra, giraffe, and the rare black and white rhinos.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (300 km – Approx. 6 hrs)
Rise early for sunrise and morning wildlife observation. Depart Lake Nakuru and head to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the rolling hills and iconic acacia trees, preparing for the abundant wildlife of the Mara.
Day 6: Full Day of Game Drives at Masai Mara
Prepare for extensive game drives over the Mara, spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino) and over 90 mammal species. During the Great Migration (July–October), witness tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle crossing the Mara River, with predators lying in wait.
Day 7: Full Day at Masai Mara
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Another full day of game drives. Optional activities include visiting a Maasai village to learn about local culture and crafts, or taking an early morning hot air balloon ride over the Mara to witness wildlife from above. Your driver/guide will assist with arrangements.
Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi (265 km – Approx. 5 hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out and travel to Nairobi. Along the way, see the Longonot extinct volcano, a strato volcano southeast of Lake Naivasha. Optional stops include Naivasha for lunch/excursions or Kiambethu Farm for a tea farm tour with buffet lunch, before transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for departure.
