Set high upon the Gambasage Hill in the Serengeti National Park’s Ikona Wildlife Management area, the Serengeti Simba Lodge boasts unbeatable views over a vibrant savanna. Glass meets stone meets wood which is all highlighted as the main lodge lights up at night, shining out onto the glistening swimming pool in front. Elegance runs throughout the lodge with individual tables set up in the dining hall with overlays depicting local art and polished wooden chairs. There is a small, comfortable lounge and a friendly bar area.
Meals can be served both indoors and outdoors with settings under large trees ideal for a unique dining experience surrounded by pure wilderness. Guests can browse the local gift shop for that ideal souvenir and simply relax on their private verandah taking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness around them.
Location
The Serengeti Simba Lodge stands elegantly in the Ikona Management Area located outside the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania’s northern circuit. A flight from Arusha to the Seronera Airstrip will take about one hour after which there is a one hour safari transfer to the Lodge. Driving from Arusha will take around seven hours.
Rooms / Tents
There are 15 luxury spacious rondavels neatly set under stone walls and canvas roofing, with a stone house cottage containing six rooms. The bedding is either King Size or Twin Bedded and all covered with mosquito netting, with white bedding brought to life with splash of color in pillows and throws. All rooms are solar powered.
There is a small writing desk and chair in the rooms, a safe for guests to store their valuables during their stay, plus WiFi available to guests. A private verandah offers a beautiful outlook into the wilderness and guests can sit and enjoy the stillness around them from the privacy of their own space. All accommodation is en-suite with beautiful bathrooms with a toilet, vanity and bathtub, with an outdoor shower for that little something different.

Game Viewing / Activities
Game drives in open 4×4 vehicles will take place in the early morning and late evenings, with guided bush walks a treat in this region. Expert guides will share the wonders of the local wilderness as well as within the famous Serengeti National Park. For something different, Bushmen and cultural tours are offered, affording guests the chance to learn about local heritage, techniques and way of life both past and present. Bird watching is incredible in this region with expert guides taking you through bushlands and near treetops to spot winged beauties.
