Waterlovers Beach Resort

Waterlovers Beach Resort is the place to go for a boutique beach getaway, located along a 15-mile pristine, white sandy beach of Kenya’s southeast coastline. Crystal clear ocean and the amazing coral reef are met by classic Kenyan architecture just off the shoreline. Beautiful white buildings with thatched roofs blend in with the soft sand and are highlighted by pools of sparkling blue waters. Dining can be enjoyed in the Tides Restaurant where the menu is a blend of international and local cuisine.

The Waterlovers Beach Resort infinity pool offers a serene space to unwind and look out over the Indian Ocean, perhaps with a cocktail served from the Ocean Spirit beach bar located at the poolside. A small sitting area can be found in the main area of the resort, with wooden chairs and comfortable cushions scattered around a winding wooden staircase, and open spaces leading out to the pool and beach area.

Accommodation is offered in suites and villas, with a strong Swahili theme running throughout. There is a gift shop, a spa, and unique activities such as camel rides along the beach. A wonderful array of experiences to be found in an idyllic destination brimming with Kenyan hospitality.

Location

The wonderful boutique Waterlovers Beach Resort can be found along a magnificent stretch of the Kenyan coastline at Diani Beach. With a five-mile drive from the Ukunda Airport and a 20-mile drive from Mombasa’s Moi International Airport, the resort is easy and convenient to get to. Flights from Nairobi to Mombasa will take around 90 minutes.

Rooms / Tents

Guests staying at the Waterlovers Beach Resort can choose one of the eight Luxury Suites or one of the double-story, four-bedroom Villas. This option comprises two king-size beds on each floor with bathroom options on the ground floor as well as upstairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. The Luxury Suites all offer a veranda with views over the ocean and double or triple bedding set up. The premium accommodation option is the Penthouse which has all that the villas have, plus a large, wooden deck on the upper floor, offering spectacular ocean, garden, and pool views. There is a small gym setup, plus a lounge and dining area.

All accommodation is air conditioned with a mini fridge, a comfortable sitting area, a safe to store valuables, and a flat-screen TV. There is WiFi, tea & coffee making station as well as a wardrobe with hanging space. The design of the rooms is based on Swahili architecture, with vibrant colors inside while ensuring the beach and laid-back vibe is pulled through. Room service is available as well as barbeque facilities. All rooms are en-suite with a shower, sink, and toilet, plus bathroom amenities for guests to use during their stay.

Guests staying at the Waterlovers Beach Resort can enjoy a huge variety of activities from deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, kite surfing, and canoeing to a day trip boat cruise to Wasini Island. Camel rides on the beach offer a unique experience along the soft sands. Less than an hour away, safari enthusiasts can visit the Shimba Hills National Park or perhaps spend some time at the Colobus Trust Monkey Sanctuary.
