Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp

Located in one of Kenya’s treasured destinations, Ol Pejeta, the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp is set on extensive grounds with stone walkways connecting public areas to tranquil tents, the surrounding wildlife in excitedly close proximity. Meals are enjoyed in a spacious “Rhino Room” dining area, a wide choice of buffet-style creations on offer, while the Water Hole Bar will quench your thirst after a wonderful day on safari.

Laze by the inviting swimming pool and spend time in the gift shop in search of souvenirs. Barbeque lunches set up along a river bank, visits to the chimpanzee sanctuary, camel rides and ravine bird walks are just a few of the activities guests can enjoy from the camp.

Location

Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp is located in the center of the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy situated along the Laikipia Plains, Mount Kenya and the hills of Aberdare surrounding the conservancy. The drive from Nairobi will take around three and a half to four hours, with the chance to view wildlife from the moment you enter the conservancy.

Rooms / Tents

52 tents await guests at the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp, with the original 23 twin and 16 double standard tents now flanked by the new Morani wing. The tents feature solid white walls made of canvas and thatched roofing. Standard tents comprise a writer’s desk and chair plus seating outside on a private deck with views overlooking a watering hole. There is a safe in the room and a tea/coffee making station while the bathrooms have a wash basin and shower plus premium bathroom amenities.

The new tents comprise eight double, seven twin and two triple Morani tents with views of Mount Kenya, and all the amenities and fittings that the standard tents comprise.

Game Viewing / Activities

Set in a prime game viewing location, activities range from 4×4 safari game drives to nature walks along the river with a chance to spot a plethora of birdlife, and the option to head out with qualified guides to track lions. Morning and afternoon bush walks submerge guests deep in nature while night drives in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy provide an opportunity for safari-goers to spot nocturnal favorites such as the bat-eared fox or aardvark.
