Sable Mountain Lodge
Sable Mountain Lodge
Solar-powered and located near the Mtambwe Gate of the Nyerere National Park in Tanzania’s southern safari region, lies the Selous Mountain Lodge. Established over 25 years ago, the short half-hour drive from the Mtambwe Airstrip means that your safari experience begins from the moment you land. The views over the forest and river below are endless and guests can sit and keep an eye out for wandering wildlife heading to the waterhole located nearby. There is a freshwater swimming pool on the grounds, the perfect way to cool down in between safari activities.
Meals are served in the Lodge’s restaurant, with the open sides, wooden beams and floors and spectacular views. There is a comfortable sitting area and the popular ‘Land Rover’s Return’ Bar which is the ideal place to quench a thirst after a day on safari. Guests can choose to stay in either a stone cottage and or tent, and activities range from game drives to cultural experiences. The Sable Mountain Lodge is a true escape into nature, a beautiful ‘off the grid’ experience among incredible scenery and wildlife.
