Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is ideally situated on the boundary of Tanzania’s renowned Tarangire National Park. Just a 15-minute drive from the park’s main entrance gate and a few miles off the main tar road, the lodge boasts a perfect and peaceful location. With only 10 luxury canvas-walled tents, each with thatched roofs and glass sliding doors, the lodge offers an intimate and elevated take on the traditional tented safari experience.
The lodge’s main area and all tents offer breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. Guests can enjoy meals in the classic indoor dining area or dine al fresco under a sky full of stars. Locally sourced cuisine is prepared by expert chefs, and the open-sided lounge and bar overlook a nearby waterhole that attracts various wildlife. Activities include game drives, bush walks, and cultural visits to a nearby local community.
Location
Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is located just outside Tarangire National Park, only 15 minutes from the main entrance gate and about 10 minutes off the main tar road. Guests can fly from Arusha to Kuro Airstrip in approximately 20 minutes, followed by a 40-mile drive to the lodge. Alternatively, the lodge is about a two-hour drive from Arusha.
Rooms / Tents
The lodge features 10 well-designed and comfortable thatched tents set privately in the wilderness, each offering views of the bush and an active waterhole. Accommodation includes two Double Tents, six Twin Tents, and two Family Tents. Tents feature glass sliding doors and plastic windows that connect guests closely to nature, along with warm, neutral décor and subtle African design elements.
Each tent comes with mosquito-netted beds, a small desk and chair, and storage space. Tea and coffee are delivered each morning, and room service is available. All tents have en-suite bathrooms equipped with toilets, vanities, and pressure booster rain showers, along with complimentary amenities.

Game Viewing / Activities
Guests can experience both morning and afternoon game drives, providing a chance to view the Big Five and many other iconic African animals, either in action or grazing peacefully near the rivers and riverines. Tarangire National Park is home to more than 400 species of birds, making it a paradise for bird watchers.
Other activities include guided bush walks, mountain biking, hiking, and hot air balloon safaris. Guests can also enjoy a cultural excursion to Mswakini Village and the local market, located just five minutes from the lodge.
