Tarangire Safari Lodge is one of the oldest and most iconic lodges in Tarangire National Park. With a deep understanding of the park’s vast wilderness and wildlife, the team at the lodge offers guests an immersive and authentic safari experience. Positioned on an escarpment ridge, the lodge features spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, including the winding Tarangire River below.
The main lodge includes a large terrace with a bar and comfortable lounge area—perfect for enjoying sunset views with your favorite drink. Meals are served in the open-air dining room, which boasts stone walls and high thatched ceilings, with the option of dining out on the terrace. A swimming pool with stone paving, loungers, and umbrellas offers a refreshing retreat during the day.
Guests can also enjoy the views from the private balconies attached to the luxury tents and bungalows. The Baobab Boutique offers a colorful variety of apparel and locally crafted art, while the spa provides a selection of indulgent treatments to elevate your stay.
Location
Tarangire Safari Lodge is located inside Tarangire National Park in Tanzania. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Arusha or about a one-hour game drive transfer from the Kuro Airstrip, which is only a 20-minute flight from Arusha.
Rooms / Tents
The lodge features 35 Safari Tents and 5 Bungalows. Tents can be configured as double, twin, or triple accommodations and include crisp linens and traditional African-inspired throws and cushions. The solid wood beds add contrast to the tent’s neutral tones. Bungalows are ideal for families and can be set up as triples or quads, each opening to a cozy private verandah.
All accommodations include mosquito-netted beds, a small sitting area, a writing desk and chair, and wardrobe space. Room service is available. The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a toilet, vanity, and shower, and guests are provided with pampering amenities during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities
Guests can enjoy thrilling morning and afternoon game drives through Tarangire National Park, where they might encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, and even elusive leopards. Watch wildlife as they drink from the Tarangire River, or indulge in world-class birdwatching—over 600 bird species have been recorded in the park.
Guests are also welcome to visit the nearby Olesiti community for an insightful cultural experience.
