Great Rift Valley Lodge

A destination comprising the ideal blend of relaxation and sporting wonder, the Great Rift Valley Lodge offers visitors to the Lake Naivasha region the opportunity to unwind or play that perfect game of golf with safari exploration in between. Set upon a dormant volcano, views are endless and gorgeous as visitors gaze out over valleys, lakes and escarpments, not to mention the championship golf course.

There are a few restaurants on the property serving delicious cuisine made with fresh, local products. The Gemini Restaurant resembles a casual cabin-style setting and offers food throughout the day, with views over the Aberdare Ranges and a fire going on cooler evenings. The Sagitta Restaurant serves food all day on a deck offering views over the 18th hole, and the Cepheus Restaurant is the perfect place to indulge in a breakfast inspired by Kenyan cuisine while overlooking the lush gardens.

There is a large swimming pool with sunbeds set out around the stone deck, sparkling and inviting guests to dip in and cool down in between safari experiences. Views over Lake Naivasha are wonderful. Guests can relax in the lounge area or enjoy a drink at the bar, perhaps spending some time looking for that perfect souvenir to take home. The Great Rift Valley Lodge offers the ideal place for destination meetings, and there are spa treatments for those looking to be pampered during their stay.

Location

The Great Rift Valley Lodge is located off the Moi North Road in Naivasha in Kenya’s Nakuru County. The Lodge overlooks tranquil Lake Naivasha. The Great Rift Valley airstrip is located a half-hour drive from the Lodge, with a flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airstrip taking approximately thirty minutes. Driving from Nairobi is a journey of approximately an hour and a half.

Rooms / Tents

Accommodation at Great Rift Valley Lodge comprises Lodge Rooms, Villas, and Chalets – all comfortably and tastefully decorated in classic beiges and browns. There are 21 double and 9 triple Lodge Rooms, 25 deluxe and 74 standard Longelot Villas, 20 two- and three-bedroomed Aberdare Villas, plus a handful of two- to four-bedroomed Chalets. All lodge and villa rooms have wonderful views over the Rift Valley and the resort’s grounds and gardens. Bedding can be made up as extra-large doubles or twins.

Villas offer a kitchen and dining area, and the cottages are spacious and perfect for families. Every accommodation has a flat-screen TV, a sitting area and wardrobe, plus a safe for guests to store their valuables during their stay. En-suite bathrooms are beautifully tiled and equipped with a shower, toilet and sink, with amenities for guests to use during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities

Guests staying at the Great Rift Valley Lodge have a plethora of activities to enjoy during their stay, from walks with favorite wildlife such as giraffe and wildebeest at Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary, mountain biking, and a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, to bird watching with a professional guide.

Other options range from stargazing and a visit to a nearby flower farm, to horse riding and active sports such as tennis and golf. Game drives in Hell’s Gate National Park are popular early in the morning and late in the afternoon, while an option to visit the volcanic crater of Mount Longonot offers a breathtaking view and an incredible day out.
