Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp

Located two miles from the entrance to the Tarangire National Park, the Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp lies within a landscape of incredible wildlife and overlooks the winding Tarangire River. Safaris are incredible here, and guests have the option of taking it all in from the comfort of the main Camp area. There is an inviting infinity swimming pool with the opportunity to gaze out over the Tarangire River and enjoy a beverage of choice from the bar.

The Camp features a comfortable lounge and elegant dining room set beneath a thatch roof, with an option for guests to dine on the deck. A campfire is located on the deck, overlooking the vast landscape—an ideal spot for guests to gather after dinner and discuss their day on safari or cultural adventures. A gift shop invites guests to browse for the perfect souvenir. Activities include game drives, bush walks, and cultural experiences with nearby communities.

Location

Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp is located next to Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park. A flight from Arusha to Kuro Airstrip takes approximately 20 minutes, followed by a 26-mile drive to the lodge. For those traveling by road from Arusha, the journey takes around three hours.

Rooms / Tents

The Camp features 20 Luxury Safari Tents set on raised platforms, each boasting a private verandah with views of the Tarangire River. There are 14 Standard Suites, each approximately 590 sq feet, offering either a double bed or two single beds. A Luxury Suite/Honeymoon Suite, 655 sq feet in size, features a king-size bed.

Five Family Suites, each 740 sq feet, accommodate three to five guests and can be configured with a king-size bed and single beds according to guest needs. Rooms are tastefully decorated in neutral tones with colorful accents, African art, and locally inspired décor.

All beds are draped with mosquito nets. The tents include a small writing desk and chair, a sitting area, a fan, and a tea/coffee-making station. WiFi and room service are available. All bathrooms are en-suite and include a toilet, vanity, and shower, along with bathroom amenities.

Game Viewing / Activities

Guests can enjoy game drives in Tarangire National Park, with early morning and late afternoon safaris offering glimpses into the vibrant wilderness and incredible wildlife of the region. Birdwatchers will delight in viewing any of the over 400 bird species found in the park.

Additional activities include hot air balloon rides, walking safaris, and visiting the Tanzip Zipline Adventure Park. Guests may also embark on a cultural village visit to learn about the heritage and history of local communities.
