Saruni Samburu Lodge

Located in the heart of the Kalama Community Conservancy, on the edge of the Samburu Game Reserve, the Saruni Samburu Lodge is an intimate and eco-focused lodge comprising only six villas. The setting is spectacular, with the villas built among rocks and the entire property boasting breathtaking views over the Kalama Conservancy and out to Mount Kenya in the distance. The elevated position of the lodge lends itself beautifully to the gorgeous infinity pool, a highlight attraction at the Lodge.

Location

Saruni Samburu Lodge is located in the Kalama Community Conservancy, which borders the Samburu Game Reserve in central Kenya. The Lodge overlooks the breathtaking landscape of the Kalama Conservancy with views of Mount Kenya in the distance.

A one-hour flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport will have guests arrive at the Saruni Samburu Airstrip, with the drive to the lodge taking approximately 30 minutes. Driving from Nairobi will take between five and six hours.

Rooms / Tents

The Saruni Samburu Lodge is a stunning, intimate safari lodge comprising six luxury and spacious villas. There are Single Villas, Family Villas, and Honeymoon Villas; bedding can be made up as King or Twin-bedded. Every villa is exquisitely decorated with minimal, classic furniture to highlight comfort and luxury. Some comprise wooden decks extended out over the captivating landscape of savannah and forests, the wooden pillars held up by a thatched roof, while others are set in between rocks and offer a stone veranda.

Screeded floors flow into the en-suite bathroom and each villa has a small fridge and water dispenser, fan, complimentary WiFi, outdoor shower, mosquito nets over the bed, a room safe, and a sun bed to laze on and watch the wildlife wander past.

With the Saruni Samburu Lodge located around four miles away from the Samburu Reserve, game drives in 4×4 vehicles can be conducted in both the Kalama Conservancy and the Samburu Reserve. Guests can enjoy the wonders of the spectacular scenery with conservation walks guided by qualified experts and look out for the hundreds of bird species found in this region.

For something different, guests can consider an early morning hike up Mount Ololokwe, located around 30 minutes away from the lodge—an incredible experience commanding spectacular views.
