Overview

A Nairobi National Park tour just minutes from your city hotel and Nairobi Airport. Starting from and returning to Nairobi city area hotels or Nairobi Airport, your short wildlife safari is conducted in the comfort of a private pop-top 4×4 Jeep.

Arriving in Nairobi National Park, you’ll quickly see how unique this reserve is. Within sight of the city skyline, you may spot lion, rhino, giraffe, buffalo, cheetah, hyena, zebra, and more. Despite its proximity to downtown Nairobi, this is a genuine wildlife experience – animals roam freely in the wild across open grassy plains and acacia bush.

Home to the Kifaru Ark

Kifaru is Kiswahili for rhinoceros. Nairobi National Park supports the largest population of endangered black rhinos in Kenya and is nicknamed the Kifaru Ark. The park supplies rhinos to other national parks across Kenya as part of conservation efforts.

Walking Trails & Special Sites

The park offers many walking trails, including a guided trail to the hippo pool to observe hippos and possibly crocodiles. During your safari, you may spot white and black rhino, leopard, lion, cheetah, buffalo, and more.

Another important site is the Ivory Burning Monument, where tons of ivory seized from poachers have been publicly burned, symbolizing Kenya’s commitment to elephant conservation.

Tour Duration & Schedule

This half-day Nairobi National Park private tour is approximately 5 hours. You may choose either a morning or afternoon tour:

• Morning Tour: Pick-up at 06:00 am, return around 11:30 am
• Afternoon Tour: Pick-up at 01:00 pm, return around 06:30 pm
