This 6-day adventure combines game drives, sailing safaris, walking safaris, and more across Kenya’s most popular parks. Witness elephants, endangered rhinos, flamingos, wildebeest, and predators across diverse landscapes including hills, savannahs, lakes, and forests.

The journey starts with a train ride from Mombasa to Emali Station near Amboseli National Park. Here, you’ll meet your driver/guide and be welcomed by Mt. Kilimanjaro and the impressive herds of elephants at Amboseli. You will then travel through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at Lake Naivasha for a boating safari, wildlife observation, and Crescent Island walking tour. Optional activities include a bicycle ride to Hell’s Gate National Park.

Next, explore Lake Nakuru National Park with its colorful birds, rhino sanctuary, and Great Rift Valley escarpment. Finally, visit the Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its abundant wildlife, the Big Five, and the picturesque savannah landscapes. Amboseli – Lakes Naivasha Area Attractions – Nakuru – Masai Mara, 6 Days Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa – Emali Train Station – Amboseli (100 km – Approx. 1.5 hrs drive)

Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner

We’ll pick you up early from your Kenya beach hotel or residence and bring you to the Mombasa Railway Station. At 08:00 hrs, depart Mombasa for Emali (near Amboseli Park) on the new Madaraka Express. We’ll pass through Tsavo East & West National Parks, enjoy scenic views and perhaps spot some wildlife. Arriving at 10:52 hrs at Emali Train Station, your safari driver/guide will meet you and bring you to Amboseli National Park.

Day 2: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (340 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll rise with the sun and the birds to relish the new day upon the fresh savannah and witness the wildlife emerging onto the plain. After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in the park before heading to Lake Naivasha. Comfortable in our 4 x 4 Jeep, we’ll journey toward the floor of the Great Rift Valley, taking in scenic views. We’ll arrive in the mid-afternoon with time for a game drive to view zebra, giraffe, antelope, and some of the 100 species of birdlife.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru (80 km – Approx. 1 hr)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early morning is perfect for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, observing hippos and varied birdlife. Then, explore Crescent Island Sanctuary on a guided walking safari. Spot pelicans, cormorants, and grazing wildlife such as buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and gazelle. Optional: visit Hell’s Gate National Park by bicycle, riding amongst grazing animals and geothermal features. Next, a short drive to Lake Nakuru, known for flamingoes, black and white rhinos, acacia forests, waterfalls, and rocky escarpments. Watch for lions, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and baboons.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (300 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Begin with an early morning game and bird drive around Lake Nakuru. Observe pelicans, kingfishers, ostriches, herons, and eagles. Then proceed through the Rift Valley toward Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive for an afternoon game drive in the iconic park with rolling hills, golden savannah, acacia trees, and rich populations of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and river crocodiles.

Day 5: Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early morning game drive to see the Mara come alive with the first light. Witness the Great Migration if visiting between July – October, with thousands of zebra, wildebeest, and gazelle crossing the Mara River. Visit the Mara River to spot hippos, crocodiles, and predators. Optional activities include visiting a nearby Maasai village to learn about their culture or taking a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride over the plains.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi (265 km – Approx. 5-6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast

After breakfast at your lodge/camp, your driver guide will assist with checkout and proceed to Nairobi. En route, view the Longonot extinct volcano, a strato volcano in the Great Rift Valley. Optional stops include Naivasha for lunch/excursions, Kiambethu Tea Farm for a three-course buffet, or drive directly to Nairobi and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure.
