Hell’s Gate National Park
07:00 pick‑up · ~2+ hr drive via the Rift Valley escarpments
Named for its steamy clouds and geothermal pools, Hell’s Gate is an unusual landscape of stunning cliffs, rock towers, extinct volcanoes and dramatic gorges. The park has two main gates—Elsa Gate and Olkaria Gate (also serving the Olkaria Geothermal Station).

Lake Naivasha
Next, we continue to Lake Naivasha for a buffet lunch at the Naivasha Sopa Resort. This region blends forests, dormant volcanoes and spectacular gorges with a shimmering mountain lake.
Boat Safari
After lunch, take a water safari with views of hippos and nearby wildlife grazing along the shore—buffalo, zebra, eland and impala are common sights. Birdlife is prolific: watch for woodpeckers, cuckoos, shrikes, hawks, African fish eagles and, in the papyrus swamps, jacanas, herons and kingfishers.
Crescent Island Game Sanctuary
Our final stop is a private sanctuary for a guided walking safari. Crescent Island boasts more animals per acre than any other park in Kenya. Expect close encounters (on foot) with wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe and gazelle. Hippos often graze about the island, and pelicans, cormorants and fish eagles are frequently seen.
The island is unfenced; animals are free to roam to and from the mainland—just like you on your walk!
After Your Adventure
It’s been a full day—three parks, three safaris and dozens of animals. Relax as your driver/guide escorts you on the quick trip back to Nairobi.
