This 6-day safari tour begins with a flight to Nairobi where you connect with your pop-up top safari minivan for a road safari. The journey takes you through Class A game reserves and national parks including Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Samburu.

The tour explores Kenya’s diverse wildlife ecosystems, experiences different climatic regions, and encounters unique cultures and magnificent landscapes.

The safari pace is easy with short but scenic drives connecting you to Kenya’s top safari attractions.

On the evening of Day 6, you’ll fly back to Mombasa, where the tour ends.

Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru – Samburu Safari – 6 Days Safari Itinerary

Day 1: MOMBASA Fly to NAIROBI, Drive to MASAI MARA (265 kms – Approx. 5/6 hrs)

Early pick up from your Diani beach resort for a transfer to Mombasa airport.

08:00 hrs: Depart on Kenya Airways to Nairobi (1 Hour)

09:00 hrs: On arrival at Nairobi airport, you are met by your Adventure In The Wild Safaris driver-guide and safari vehicle. Drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Day 2: FULL DAY AT THE MASAI MARA

Today shall be a game viewing extravaganza!

Masai Mara Game Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem in the natural world. It hosts the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals in the region.

The scenic appeal of tree-studded savannah plains, moderate climate, and diversity of wild game species makes it a one-stop shop for game viewing.

We’ll traverse the reserve on a full day of unlimited game drives, encountering the Big Five and other lesser-known wildlife.

Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara River as we watch hippos & crocodiles or, if in season (July – October), the Great Migration.

Day 3: MASAI MARA – LAKE NAKURU (280 kms – Approx. 4/5 hrs)

Early morning game drive to catch the sunrise and active wildlife.

Later, depart the Masai Mara and head to Lake Nakuru National Park.

En route, we stop at Lake Naivasha (freshwater) and Lake Elmenteita (alkaline).

Enjoy game and bird viewing around Lake Nakuru National Park, home to hundreds of thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and over 450 bird species.

The park also hosts both black and white rhinos, along with warthogs, antelope, baboons, and more.

Proceed to Samburu Game Reserve located in Kenya’s arid northern frontier.

This is the most scenic and dramatic leg of the safari, with landscapes transitioning from Rift Valley escarpments through the central highlands to dry northern plains.

Stop at Thompson’s Falls in Nyahururu for a scenic view, then continue to Samburu for an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: FULL DAY AT SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Day 6: SAMBURU – MT. KENYA – NAIROBI (320 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

After an early morning game viewing drive, depart Samburu and travel toward Nairobi.

The route takes you through Kenya’s central highlands and past the slopes of Mount Kenya.

Enjoy scenic views of tea, coffee, and pineapple plantations along the way.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
