Taking off from Mombasa, you’ll witness the dawn breaking over the land as you fly into Nairobi. There, you’ll join our group, traveling overland in a 4 x 4 Jeep to the Masai Mara, perhaps the most famous park in the world. This short tour is an affordable but full safari that also works as a last-minute booking.

We’ve designed this wildlife journey to give you as much viewing time as possible in the great Masai Mara National Reserve. Over the course of this 3-day safari, there will be unlimited game drives through the scenic hills and savannahs of Kenya’s most popular park. The Mara is dense with wildlife, both the large predators and the endless herds of grazers streaming throughout the reserve.

And throughout, you are guaranteed to always enjoy a window seat on the action, plus standing access to view the sights through your jeep’s pop-up top.

There will also be opportunities to visit and learn about the local Maasai people.

On day three we’ll return to the Nairobi airport for your flight back to Mombasa. There, we will bring you back to your hotel or resort.

As always with Adventure In The Wild Safaris, you will have your choice of accommodation as well. Stay at either the Masa Mara Sopa Lodge or Olmoran Tented Camp depending on your budget and wishes.

All-Inclusive. Your 3-Day Masai Mara Fly and Drive Safari includes roundtrip flights, park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations, meals and hotel/airport transfer. Depending on your budget and style choose from an economy or comfort safari lodges or tented camps.

Your Guide. For your 3-day journey, you’ll be guided, hosted and looked after by your own experienced driver/guide.

Transportation between parks and game viewing will be in a 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is the safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive.

3 Days Fly & Drive Mombasa – Nairobi – Masai Mara Group Tour Itinerary

Day 1

DAY 1: MOMBASA – NAIROBI – MASAI MARA (Fly & Drive) (Nairobi to Masai Mara 265kms)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

We will pick you up early from your hotel or resort and transfer you to the Mombasa airport.

0500 hrs. Kenya Airways flight from Mombasa to Nairobi. During this one-hour flight, you’ll view the early morning sun lighting up the African plains.

0600 hrs. You’ll arrive at Nairobi where your tour group guide will meet you.

Day 2

FULL DAY AT THE MASAI MARA

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Today you will get a full appreciation for the enormity and the spectacle of the park. The reserve features an exceptional density of lion, leopard, and cheetah. But the drama isn’t only with these famous predators, the Mara hosts thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle.

Should you be here during the Great Migration (July – October) expect to see those thousands turn to tens of thousands as the animals stream into the park on their endless cycle of survival.

We’ll head down to the Mara River where the wildlife streams in during the migration. And we’re sure to see hippo, crocodile and more in their natural habitat.

We’ve also arranged for some optional activities to enhance your safari experience. Ask your guide to arrange a visit to one of the local Masai villages to meet and learn about these people.

You can also jump aboard an optional early morning balloon ride over the vast park. You’ll rise with the sun, watching the natural world come to life in all its wonder. Just ask your guide to arrange this unforgettable adventure.

Day 3

MASAI MARA – NAIROBI (265 kms- 5-6 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast.

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi – Kenya’s colorful capital city.

On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano which is a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges “.

You can opt to drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions at an extra cost or drive straight to Nairobi and pass by Kiambethu farm for the tea farm tour inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (at an extra cost) OR drive straight back to the capital and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your back home.
