Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge

Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is ideally located on the boundary of the Tarangire National Park. Located just a 15-minute drive from the main entrance gate to the Park and set a couple of miles off the main tar road, its location is truly perfect. The Lodge offers an intimate experience with only 10 canvas-walled tents, thatched roofing, and glass-sliding doors adding a unique and luxury twist to a traditional luxury tented experience.

The Lodge’s main area and all accommodation offer breathtaking views over the wilderness. In the main area, there is a classic dining area where locally sourced cuisine is created and served by talented chefs. A waterhole located nearby offers excellent views from the openside lounge and bar, and guests can choose to dine outside the main tent, under a brilliant, starry night. Excursions include game drives and bush walks, as well as a cultural excursion to a nearby local community.

Location

The Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is located just outside Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, 15 minutes from the main entrance gate to the Park and just 10 minutes off the main tar road. Guests can fly from Arusha to the Kuro Airstrip, a flight of approximately 20 minutes, and then enjoy a 40-mile drive from the Lodge. Driving from Arusha, guests will have a journey of two hours.

Rooms / Tents

10 beautiful, neat, and comfortable thatched roofed tents are set up privately among wilderness and wildlife, with views over an active waterhole and bush, truly exceptional. There are two Double Tents, six Twin Tents, and two Family Tents. The tents have glass sliding doors and plastic windows, which promote the feeling of being immersed in nature. Neutral colors and classic touches of African influences offer a warm welcome. Beds have mosquito netting and there is a small desk and chair as well as a space to store clothing.

Tea and coffee are brought to the room each morning and guests have the option of room service during their stay. The bathrooms are en-suite and contain a toilet, vanity, and pressure booster rain shower. Bathroom amenities are provided for guests to use during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities

Guests can enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive, a chance to spot the ‘Big Five’ and many other incredible animals, a chance to see them on the hunt or simply grazing as a group near rivers and riverines. There are said to be over 400 bird species in the Park and guests can enjoy an incredible bird-watching experience during their time in the bush.

Bush walks, mountain biking adventures, and hiking are just some of the other activities on offer when staying at Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge. Guests can enjoy a hot air balloon ride or take some time away from the wilderness to visit the Mswakini Village and local market, located around five minutes away.
