Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Tarangire Sopa Lodge is nestled among the massive baobab trees and valleys of the Tarangire National Park, a property specifically built to blend in with the environment. The main building stands grand with bold wooden finishes and tall, thatched ceilings.

On a raised deck, the lounge area offers comfortable seating while the beautifully designed bar serves refreshing beverages throughout the day. The views from here are spectacular. The dining room is grand with individual tables set up for meals, and the option for guests to dine outdoors if they prefer.

The 75 round-shaped luxury rooms are privately established and connected by stone walkways. The good-sized swimming pool is inviting, and the poolside bar is open for guests to enjoy while they cool down in between safari drives and nature walks. Guests can enjoy a massage during their stay, or spend time in the fitness center for guests who wish to work out. Sitting with a good book in the small library or playing a game of billiards are on offer to guests too. There is a small gift shop and conference facilities for those guests who need to work during their stay.

Location

The Tarangire Sopa Lodge is located in Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Arusha. Guests who wish to fly to the Lodge can enjoy a 20-minute flight from Arusha Airport to Kuro Airstrip, followed by a one-hour ‘game drive’ transfer to the Lodge.

Rooms / Tents

The 75 Luxury Rooms located at Tarangire Sopa Lodge comprise a compilation of Standard Rooms and Family Suites, of which there are four. Rooms are around 320 sq feet in size and the Family Suites comprise two interleading bedrooms. Each room has dark tiled flooring and cream walls, with wooden beams above the beds to hold mosquito nets. Classic local art is on the walls and beds are made up with crisp, white linens and brown and orange cushions and runners.

The rooms boast a small balcony where guests can sit and enjoy their incredible surroundings. In the room, there is a writing desk and chair, a small sitting area, a television, and a mini-bar in each room. All rooms are air-conditioned too. The bathrooms are all en-suite with a toilet, vanity, and shower with bathroom amenities available for guests to use during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities

Early morning and late afternoon game drives are splendid in the wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park, while guests have the option to embark on a walking safari with a qualified guide. Bird watching is fantastic with a plethora of bird species resident in the Park. For guests who wish to embark on a cultural experience, guests can spend time with the Olasiti community who live near the Park.
