Hhando Coffee Lodge

Subtle luxury awaits at the humble Hhando Coffee Lodge. The design and decor of the cottages are all locally influenced and neatly set up on the grounds of a coffee plantation. Views over the surrounding farmlands paint a picture of rich greens and browns and the ambience is tranquil.

The public areas contain a relaxing lounge area and a pleasant bar, with the dining room set up with individual tables and an open fire, all offering a panoramic view over the plantation. The Lodge has an inviting swimming pool where guests can cool down in between or after a day of exploration, and guests can enjoy a little workout in the small gym or a wonderful spa treatment.

The 10 Luxury Cottages and three Family Bungalows are all perfectly spaced apart and offer commanding views over the plantation and farmlands. There are many wonderful activities for guests to enjoy during their stay at Hhando Coffee Lodge.

Location

Hhando Coffee Lodge is located in Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a 40-minute drive from Lake Manyara Airstrip. Flights from Arusha to Lake Manyara will take around 25 minutes. Driving from Arusha will take around two hours and forty minutes.

Rooms / Tents

The 10 Luxury Cottages and three Family Bungalows are rounded chalets with red screeded floors and yellow walls with wooden window frames. There is a fireplace and each bungalow has a cozy verandah.

The beds are wooden four-poster with mosquito nets and crisp linens, and each room boasts a safe to store valuables, a small desk and chair, and a comfortable sitting chair. There is a tea/coffee-making station, a television, and space for guests to hang their clothes. Bathrooms are en-suite, with walls made of stone and each bathroom comprises a toilet, vanity, and shower.

Amenities

Guests at Hhando Coffee Lodge can enjoy a warm and intimate selection of amenities including a dining room, lounge, bar, and indoor fireplace. On request, barbeque and bonfire experiences can be arranged for evening relaxation. The lodge offers a gift shop for keepsakes, WiFi connectivity, picnic options, laundry services, and a swimming pool for cooling off after safaris.

Game Viewing / Activities

Game Drives in the Ngorongoro Crater or Lake Manyara are popular while walking safaris in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are not to be missed. Bird watching is amazing in this region while nature walks on the Crater Rim offer a different adventure and experience.

Guests can mountain bike or take a hike to the Endoro Elephanta Caves which are around two hours away. Lake Eyasi offers guests a chance to visit with the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes on earth. Olduvai Gorge is a fascinating archeological experience, considered a highlight in the area.
