Semuliki National Park — Wildlife

Ituri–Congo biome outliers, Sempaya hot springs, and bird-rich forest

Ecology in context

Central African biome outliers—forest walks, strong bird lists, and Sempaya’s geothermal features. Visibility is tighter than on open plains; guides read calls and micro-habitat.

Viewing etiquette

Follow UWA and guide rules on distance, masks where required for primates, and no feeding. On savanna, stay in vehicles unless walking is officially opened; tip porters and trackers fairly where community programmes exist.

Questions

Is Semuliki National Park rewarding outside peak dry months?

Yes—with different trade-offs (greener scenery, fewer vehicles, sometimes trickier cats in long grass). Tell us your dates on contact and we suggest realistic pacing.

Can I combine Uganda with Kenya or Tanzania?

Yes—many guests pair gorillas or chimps with Maasai Mara or Serengeti; visas and permit sequencing need coherent design.
