Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge

Taking up a prime position in Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit, the Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is the ideal base from which to enjoy safari adventures and cultural visits in the area. The main building of this beautifully appointed lodge has an inviting reception area and a small gift shop, and out on the long terrace, wicker chairs are set up for guests to sit back and relax in between activities.

The dining area is large with tall ceilings and white tablecloths draped on the tables, with African-themed chargers on top, and local art on the walls. A bar serves a selection of popular beverages.

There is a refreshing swimming pool that overlooks the breathtaking landscape and is surrounded by green grass. Guests can enjoy a relaxing massage or spa treatment or a selection of cultural activities located nearby. Guests can gather at night around a crackling campfire and share stories of their day with other guests.

Location

The Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is located in the Ngorongoro Forest Reserve in Tanzania’s Karatu district. The flight from Arusha to Lake Manyara Airstrip will take around 30 minutes, and from here, guests will be fetched and driven approximately 80 minutes to the Lodge. If guests want to drive, they will have a journey of three hours and fifteen minutes from Arusha.

Rooms / Tents

10 Luxury Double Cottages and three Luxury Family Cottages are set up on the grounds of the Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge. They all have a furnished verandah, a small table, and a chair set up for guests. The Luxury Cottages have either a king or queen bed, while the Family Cottages have two separate rooms connected by a sitting area, and two large double beds in each.

All beds are covered with mosquito netting. Amenities include a safe, writing desk and chair, tea/coffee-making station, comfortable sitting area, fireplace, telephone, and clothing storage. Room service is available during the stay.

Game Viewing / Activities

Guests staying at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge can enjoy a variety of excursions including game drives in Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as well as bird watching on the lodge grounds. Nature walks along the Crater Rim are a fun adventure, and visits to the archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge or the Hadzabe Tribe near Lake Eyasi will immerse guests in the cultural wonders of this region.
