Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Arrive at Kigali International Airport where you’ll be welcomed by your driver guide. Enjoy a briefing on your adventure and settle into your hotel. Optional city visits around Kigali are available depending on arrival time.

Day 2: Kigali to Kisoro Town, Uganda (134km / 3hrs)

After breakfast, explore Kigali through a city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Have an early lunch before heading north through Rwanda’s lush countryside to cross into Uganda at the Cyanika border. Arrive in Kisoro in the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to Mgahinga National Park for an unforgettable gorilla trek. Spend up to an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and visit a local village in the afternoon.

Day 4: Kisoro to Queen Elizabeth NP – Ishasha Sector (152km / 4.5hrs)

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Check in at Ishasha Jungle Lodge, enjoy lunch, and then go for an afternoon game drive along the Ishasha River bordering Congo DRC.

Day 5: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Early morning game drive offers chances to see elephants, buffalo, lions, and more. After lunch, drive north within Queen Elizabeth NP for a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. Expect to see hippos, elephants, buffalo, and an array of birds up close during the 2-hour cruise.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth NP to Kibale NP (125km / 2.5hrs)

Morning game drive before departing Queen Elizabeth for Kibale National Park. Enjoy game viewing along the way. Arrive in time for lunch and relax at the lodge, surrounded by tranquil rainforest.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Set off early for a guided trek to find the habituated chimpanzees of Kibale. The forest is rich in biodiversity, hosting 13 primate species, 335 bird species, and a variety of mammals like forest elephants and antelope. Return for lunch and enjoy a peaceful afternoon at leisure.

Day 8: Kibale to Murchison Falls NP via Fort Portal (320km / 7hrs)

Depart Kibale after breakfast and travel via Fort Portal and the Albertine Escarpment to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Check in and lunch at your lodge, then enjoy an afternoon game drive possibly crossing the River Nile by ferry.

Day 9: Game Drive & Boat Safari to Murchison Falls

Early morning game drive offers a chance to spot the Big Five and other savannah wildlife. After lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Nile. Spot hippos, crocs, elephants, and more, ending at the thunderous Murchison Falls. Take a guided hike to the top for a panoramic view of the world’s most powerful waterfall.

Day 10: Murchison Falls to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (300km / 5hrs)

Enjoy a final game drive and ferry crossing before driving to Masindi Hotel for lunch, once frequented by Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a walking safari to view Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Continue to Kampala for your overnight stay.

Day 11: Kampala to Entebbe & Departure (41km / 1hr)

After breakfast, enjoy a short tour of Entebbe before transferring to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. End of your adventure with Adventure In The Wild Safaris.
