In just two days, you’ll explore the wildlife and diversity of these two Rift Valley lakes. Freshwater Lake Naivasha hosts hippos and other aquatic life, while Lake Nakuru is alkaline, attracting flamingos, pelicans, kingfishers, and ostriches. Lake Nakuru National Park combines dazzling birdlife with traditional safari wildlife. The park features a rhino sanctuary with white and black rhinos and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe feeding in acacia forests. Other wildlife includes waterbucks, hyenas, baboons, and monkeys.

Lakes Nakuru & Naivasha 2 Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Distance: 160 km (Approx. 3 hrs) | Meals: Lunch, Dinner

07:00 hrs – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Nairobi airport.

We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep for Lake Nakuru, enjoying a scenic drive through the sweeping farmlands of the central highlands and passing the dramatic towers and gorges of the Rift Valley escarpment. Along the way, we’ll stop to stretch, refresh, and admire the breathtaking vistas.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

Distance: 70 km (Approx. 2 hrs) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll begin the day with more bird and game viewing around Lake Nakuru and the surrounding park areas.

Next, we’ll drive a short distance to Lake Naivasha, where we’ll enjoy a boat safari across the lake. Sail past hippos, birdlife, and perhaps spot grazing zebra and antelope on the shore. Keep an eye out for buffalo, eland, impala, and occasionally leopard.

We’ll then visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, a beautiful private reserve filled mostly with gentle grazers. A naturalist will guide us on a walking safari to view herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, gazelle, and more.
