Conveniently Depart Nairobi

We will pick you up at the airport, your hotel or residence in our comfortable and private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Your private Driver/Guide is English speaking – or another language if requested. We begin our tour passing local farming communities, pausing to enjoy dramatic views of the Great Rift Valley. Moving on to scenic Kenyan and Masai vistas… we will descend to the Savannah, home to immense herds of wildlife. View, photograph or simply soak up this ancient landscape.

For your journey, you’ll be guided, hosted and looked after by your own experienced driver/guide. Transportation between parks and game viewing will be in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is Adventure In The Wild Safaris safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive.

3 Days, 2 Nights Masai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara (Approx. 265 km – 5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

07:30 hrs – We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel, residence, or Nairobi airport. In your private 4 x 4 Jeep, we’ll journey out to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 2: Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be up early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, said to be the densest of any park in the region. This will be a day of unlimited game drives over the golden fields and past the distinctive acacia trees adorning these plains. Be on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Birdlife is also abundant, and during the Great Migration (July – October), prepare to witness the largest movement of animals on the planet. Primarily made up of wildebeest and zebra, the migrating animals cross into the park by the thousands at the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles are also found.

Adding more richness to your Masai Mara experience, you can enjoy an optional visit to a local Maasai village to see their lifestyle up close. Another optional experience is an early morning hot air balloon ride over the reserve – a magnificent way to see the wildlife and the park come to life. Ask your driver/guide to set up either or both activities.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi (Approx. 265 km – 5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge or camp, your dedicated driver/guide will assist with checkout and proceed to Nairobi, Kenya’s colorful capital city. On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano, a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. It last erupted in the 1860s and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges.”

You can optionally drive via Naivasha for lunch or excursions at an extra cost, or drive straight to Nairobi and pass by Kiambethu Farm for a tea farm tour inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (extra cost). Alternatively, drive straight back to Nairobi and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your return flight.
