Kilimanjaro and Amboseli Park where massive herds of elephants will amaze and delight. This safari is short and easy but packs in a lot of adventure. And last-minute bookings are no problem.

We know you’re looking to spot lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino, but have you ever been up close to a bushbaby, gerenuk or an enchanting dik-dik? All these species plus many more are waiting for you at picturesque Tsavo West National Park. The park is a pleasing mix of grassland, rolling hills, and sparkling springs.

There are more surprises waiting for you at Amboseli National Park, nestled at the foot of mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro. You’ll thrill to Africa’s best views of the world-famous mountain right from this spot. The game drives here will be active, with plenty of elephant, cheetah, hyena, zebra, and cheetah to track. Transportation

Tsavo West – Amboseli Safari – 3 Days

Day 1

MOMBASA – TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK (240 km, approx. 4 hrs)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

The safari begins with a pick-up at your beach hotel or resort. We’ll take the scenic Mombasa – Nairobi Highway, viewing farmlands and Kenya countryside along the way.

Day 2

TSAVO WEST – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK (100 km, approx. 2 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be visiting two national parks today, so we’ll be up early and launch our adventure with a pre-breakfast game drive. Heading out in our Jeep we’ll be looking for wildlife emerging into the dawn.

After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll venture out again, this time headed for Mzima Springs. This oasis is a cool, shaded contrast to the rugged terrain of the park. Here, by the spring-fed waters we’ll look for crocodile, hippo, bright birdlife and fish. And we won’t be the only visitors as much of the park’s wildlife is drawn to the life-sustaining waters here.

We’ll enjoy a final game drive at Tsavo West, as we exit the reserve on the short drive to Amboseli National Park. Look for the imposing form of Mt. Kilimanjaro that stands sentinel over this small but active park.

Amboseli is known for its elephants, and you will see them here, foraging and parading in grand form to and from the local watering holes. With Kilimanjaro forming a majestic backdrop for the stream of wildlife marching before it, Amboseli is one of the most photographed parks in the world.

Day 3

AMBOSELI – MOMBASA (430 km – approx. 7 hrs with lunch stop)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll be up with the birds to view the awakening wildlife and hopefully the white-capped pinnacle of Kilimanjaro. After enjoying a final breakfast at our accommodation, we’re off on a short game drive as we exit the park. We’ll take one last look at the wildlife and Mt. Kilimanjaro, holding those pictures in our mind.
