So, get ready to say goodbye to the beach and suit up for the trip of a lifetime.

This safari offers a kaleidoscope of natural world experiences. From the vast red-dust plains of Tsavo East to the elephants parading before you at Amboseli Park. Talk about getting up close!

But it’s at the Masai Mara that you will come upon perhaps the largest assortment and number of animals in Kenya. Tsavo East – Amboseli – Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: MOMBASA – TSAVO EAST (120 KM – Approx. 3 hours)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

The safari begins with a pick-up at your beach hotel or resort. We’ll take the scenic Mombasa–Nairobi Highway, viewing farmlands and Kenya’s countryside along the way. The journey includes several stops to stretch and get refreshments.

Day 2: TSAVO EAST – AMBOSELI (300 km – Approx. 5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll rise for an early breakfast and game drive as we depart the reserve for Amboseli National Park, nestled at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro – the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Amboseli is home to perhaps the most concentrated population of free-ranging elephants anywhere. We guarantee you’ll see them proudly marching about.

This smaller park makes wildlife easier to spot – wildebeest, zebras, lions, and cheetahs are common sights. We also offer an optional visit to the local Maasai people – your guide can make all the arrangements.

Day 3: AMBOSELI – LAKE NAIVASHA (340 km – Approx. 7 hrs)

The sun will greet us as we rise early and, with luck, see Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit. After a final game drive and farewell to Amboseli’s famous elephants, we’ll head to the Rift Valley and its astonishing escarpments.

We’ll stop in Nairobi for lunch at a distinctive local restaurant. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, we’ll enjoy a boat safari across this high-altitude freshwater lake, spotting hippos, birds, and possibly zebra and antelope grazing by the shore.

Day 4: LAKE NAIVASHA – LAKE NAKURU (80 km – Approx. 1.5 hrs)

The Lake Naivasha area is close to other preserves filled with wildlife. We’ll take a bicycle ride or walk to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park, getting close to peaceful, free-roaming wildlife — a unique and active way to safari.

Afterwards, a short drive brings us to Lake Nakuru National Park, a refuge for large animals and a sanctuary for black and white rhinos. The alkaline lake is also known for its birdlife, especially the pink flamingoes. Here, you could spot lion, cheetah, and endangered rhinos – all in one place!

Day 5: LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA (290 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Today we journey to the legendary Masai Mara. After a short game drive out of Lake Nakuru, we’ll stop for lunch on the way and arrive at the Mara in time for an afternoon game drive through its rolling hills and vast savannah.

The Mara is not just Kenya’s most famous park, but a crucial point in the Great Migration – the annual movement of millions of wildebeest and zebra. It’s an ecosystem unlike any other.

Day 6: FULL DAY MASAI MARA

Get ready for a full day of wildlife exploration. The Mara is teeming with life – from the “Big Five” to herds of grazers and opportunistic predators. If you’re visiting between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration as herds cross the Mara River – home to crocodiles and hippos.

Optional experiences include a visit to a nearby Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions, or a sunrise hot air balloon safari for a breathtaking view of the plains below. Your guide from Adventure In The Wild Safaris will help you arrange either activity.

Day 7: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI (260 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

We’ll rise early for a final game drive and breakfast. Then, it’s time to say goodbye to the Masai Mara as we journey back to Nairobi. We expect to arrive in the late afternoon.

In 7 days, you’ve experienced 5 national parks and a world of unforgettable natural wonders. We hope you enjoyed every step of the journey with Adventure In The Wild Safaris.
