Mbalageti Safari Lodge sets the scene for a truly unforgettable safari experience in the Serengeti’s popular western corridor, with 360 panoramic views over plains and beyond. A stunning reception awaits guests in the main lodge area, local art and artifacts depicting the rich and colorful heritage of Africa. The dining area is intimate with dark wood tables and tall wooden chairs set up on two tiers, offering indoor and outdoor dining options. The lounge is cozy and comfortable and the huge bar curves out to meet the pool deck, ensuring there is enough seating for all guests to unwind at the end of an exciting day on safari.
The swimming pool at Mbalageti Safari Lodge is exquisite, rounded in shape and surrounded by stone and a lovely deck, offering views over the Serengeti plains. The Lodge has a tranquil spa offering massages and treatments to replenish body and soul, and for retail therapy, guests can spend time in the Lodge’s gift shop in search of that ideal souvenir. Accommodation options range from standard chalets to tented rooms and executive suites, all offering a quiet space in nature and activities include wildlife experiences and cultural discoveries.
Location
Mbalageti Safari Lodge is located in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, a two-hour flight from Arusha to the Grumeti Airstrip then a 45-minute game drive to the Lodge. Driving from Arusha is a full day journey, taking around eight hours.
Rooms / Tents
There is an array of accommodation options available at the Mbalageti Safari Lodge. Standard Rooms offer comfortable accommodation set within a block building, offering comfortable bedding that can be made up as Doubles or Twins with mosquito netting over the beds. All standard rooms are en-suite. There is mineral water, a flashlight, umbrellas, a walking stick and a whistle in each room.
The 12 tented chalets are situated on the side of a hill, with either sunrise or sunset views. The walls are made of local rock with wooden flooring throughout. A true “bush theme” runs through the chalets, bringing the outside in. Showers and bathtubs are found in each chalet with an extra bathtub on the veranda. Private and exclusive, these all contain mineral water, bathrobes, flashlights, umbrellas, a walking stick, whistle, binoculars and safe deposit box.
The two exclusive family suites have two bedrooms, one with a King Size bed and one with twin beds, plus a living and dining area. All suites are en-suite with a toilet, vanity, shower and bathtub. The inclusions are the same as the chalets with a satellite TV as well. Deluxe Suites are the ultimate accommodation level at Mbalageti Safari Lodge, spacious and well-lit, with all the amenities the Suites have.

Game Viewing / Activities
The Serengeti’s western corridor is an incredible spot for wildlife viewing, especially during the great migration crossing in July and September. Animals that can be spotted include the “Big Five”, namely lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhinoceros, as well as plains game and brilliant bird viewing.
Guided bush walks and bird watching adventures are offered, as well as a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti. Visitors can enjoy a cultural tour during their stay, learning about culture and techniques of local communities nearby.
