Chui Lodge – Oserengoni

Step inside a four-star luxury lodge that offers a tranquil escape amid manicured gardens set in Kenya’s Naivasha region. Local materials carefully crafted in the onsite wood workshop have been used for the design of the lodge and furniture in the dining area and lounge areas. Guests will enjoy meals created from the lodge’s own dairy farm and organic vegetable garden, served either indoors next to a crackling fire or perhaps on the guests’ private verandah or near the water’s edge.

The lodge’s main area is set up as a gallery of sorts with African antiques and carvings presented proudly on the pillars and walls, with local talent highlighted in brilliant creations. Guests can enjoy some downtime lying next to the large and inviting swimming pool, its location perfectly positioned for bathers to spot wildlife coming to drink at a nearby waterhole. With only eight rooms on offer, Chui Lodge is an intimate experience offering brilliant game drives and boating excursions, where guests are sure to achieve their most sought-after animal sightings.

Location

Chui Lodge is located in Kenya’s Naivasha region, within the Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary. Getting there is simple with a two-and-a-half-hour drive on well-tarred roads from Nairobi, or a very quick 20-minute flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport into the Loldia Airstrip.

Rooms / Tents

Chui Lodge offers an intimate stay with only a handful of accommodations on offer. There are eight luxury lodges in total, five Standard Rooms and three Deluxe Rooms. Stone walls and floors are complemented by tall ceilings made of wooden beams and thatch.

The beige and brown bedding is highlighted by pops of color in the floor rugs or colorful windows in the bathroom. Each room has a fire with the standard rooms offering a small sitting area while the deluxe rooms have a separate lounge area. Beds are beautiful four-posters and guests’ luxury is enhanced with comfortable robes and slippers for their use during their stay.

Each room has a mini-bar, a chest at the foot of the bed, and a tea & coffee-making station, as well as a free-standing closet with a small safe for guests to store their valuables during their stay. Bathrooms are en-suite with a bathtub and shower, double vanities, toilet, and bathroom amenities. Both room types have a verandah where guests can sit and take in the beautiful sanctuary wilderness surrounding them and over the Rift Valley Escarpment.

Game Viewing / Activities

There are a variety of activities to enjoy at Chui Lodge which ranges from a visit to a nearby flower farm, mountain biking activities, and hiking, to the popular game viewing adventures.

Morning and afternoon game drives will show guests the amazing wildlife that roam the region.

A chance to watch giraffes gently roam the plains or hyenas nervously checking you out. Night drives will reveal nocturnal favorites such as aardvark or the gorgeous spotted eagle-owl. Boat rides on Lake Naivasha will see guests zipping past lazy hippos and a bush walk will bring visitors up close and personal to the smaller wonders of the bush.
