Lying along the banks of the Ngarenanyuki River in the central-eastern Serengeti, the beautiful Serengeti Sametu Camp presents a tranquil escape, immersing guests in a space that perfectly brings together luxury and nature. The main area is beautifully set up with a large lounge area boasting comfortable chairs and decor influenced by local Tanzanian culture and art.
The bar is fully stocked and set up in the corner of the lounge. The dining area presents beautiful tables set with white tablecloths that complement the tall, cream canvas ceilings. Meals are served using local ingredients and flavors with an international flair.
There is a beautiful outside sitting area laid out on slasto paving and open to incredible views of the surrounding bush. There is a tranquil swimming pool at the main camp area, and guests have the option of indulging in a relaxing spa treatment of choice. Guests can browse through a small gift shop, and those seeking a cultural experience can enjoy a visit to a nearby local village.
Location
The Serengeti Sametu Camp is located in the central Serengeti National Park, near the Ngarenanyuki River and the Seronera Airstrip. The drive from the airstrip to the camp is 16 miles through the park — a chance for guests to see wildlife along the way. If guests wish to drive from Arusha, the journey takes around seven hours.
Rooms / Tents
The 14 Standard Tents can be configured into double or twin bedding and all boast a breathtaking view over the plains of the Serengeti. The tents are luxurious with classic African decor and art on the walls, beautiful wooden flooring, and canvas walls and ceilings. There is a small sitting area plus a small table and chair, and the wonderful deck offers incredible views from the privacy of the tents.
There are two Family Suites that are connected by a walkway. The en-suite bathrooms have double vanities, a toilet, and a shower. Each tent includes a safe for guests to store their valuables, a working table, and WiFi. Guests are provided with bathroom amenities, slippers, and dressing gowns to use during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities
Game drives in 4×4 vehicles are enjoyed in the early morning and late afternoon, where guests can enjoy sundowners and watch an incredible sunset. Bush walks and hot air balloon rides offer breathtaking scenes over the Serengeti plains.
Guests can enjoy an Empakaai Crater walk or explore the Olmoti Crater. At these locations, visitors can meet the Maasai, learn about their traditions, witness a dancing demonstration, and buy locally made jewelry at the Maasai village.
