Elewana Lewa Safari Camp

An exquisite camp with a focus on conservation and community connection, the luxury Elewana Lewa Safari Camp is situated in a wildlife-rich conservancy teeming with outstanding animal sightings and dramatic wilderness. Lewa Safari Camp has a truly relaxed vibe with an authentic safari ambiance. The camp is made up of a comfortable sitting area and friendly bar, and a restaurant serving delicious meals created from locally-sourced ingredients.

There is a swimming pool for guests to cool down during the day and then cozy up to a crackling log fire in the evenings, sharing stories of your day on safari. Accommodation comprises large tented rooms with decks and all en-suite, all beautifully decorated. Guests can choose a souvenir from the small gift shop.

Location

Elewana Lewa Safari Camp is located near the Lewa main airstrip, the transfer through the wilderness, a journey of around 40 minutes. Flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport are offered a couple of times a day, the flight taking around one hour. Guests preferring to drive from Nairobi can expect a journey of around five hours and 15 minutes.

Rooms / Tents

13 exquisite tented accommodations present a luxury and spacious escape in the beautiful wilderness, all decorated in soft colors to complement the screeded floors and beige canvas ceilings. A reeded roof ensures shade over the verandah. This outdoor space is the perfect spot for guests to relax and enjoy the wilderness around them. The beds are wood-based, with scatter cushions and earthy-toned rugs in the room.

The 11 Safari Tents can be made up of double or single beds, with a third bed in the room for triple-occupancy. There are two Family Tents that offer more space with an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin bedroom.

The bathrooms have a wonderful shower, vanity, and toilet, with modern amenities for guests to use during their stay.

Game Viewing / Activities

Game drives are spectacular at Elewana Lewa Safari Camp. 4×4 safari vehicles traverse the conservancy in search of an array of wildlife, which includes the Grevy’s zebra and a strong collection of black and white rhinos. Birdwatching in this area is spectacular too.

Other activities include horse riding and camel rides and guided walks both on the conservancy and to the nearby Ngare Ndare Forest. The friendly team at Elewana Lewa Safari Camp can arrange bush breakfasts and visits to local communities.
