Ocean Beach Resort & Spa Malindi

Oceans Beach Resort & Spa Malindi is a luxury, five-star resort located on a wonderful Kenyan beach. The property is set in beautifully manicured gardens, with an inviting swimming pool where guests can relax and unwind in paradise. Guests can enjoy the peace and wellness vibe in the Ocean Spa which presents the Thalatepee suite offering seaweed wraps, mud, and ghassoul baths. There is a small, relaxing lounge area with the Finch Hattons Bar serving refreshments throughout the day.

There are two restaurants, the Victoria Restaurant set inside with a large, wooden-beam ceiling and the Dunes Beach Restaurant & Bar set up on the verandah. Both offer a casual elegance and serve a menu of international cuisine. Accommodation is nothing short of pure luxury, the rooms and suites are decorated in crisp, light colors which compliment the dark woods of the beds, cupboards, and floors. Ocean Beach Resort & Spa is located off Golf Beach Road in Malindi on Kenya’s eastern coastline. Malindi Airport is located four miles away and Moi International Airport in Mombasa is around a two and a half hour’s drive away.

Rooms / Tents

There are 20 hotel rooms and 15 suites on offer to guests at the Ocean Beach Resort & Spa Malindi. Each room highlights the precision in design and decor with wooden floors, cupboards, and trimming around the bed. The rooms are elegantly decorated with great attention to detail throughout.

The Superior Rooms are 645 sq feet and offer super king beds with mosquito netting around the bed, a sitting area, and a verandah that leads out into the garden. There are four Junior Suites of 700 sq feet and six Suites of 860 sq feet, both accommodation types inclusive of a spacious sitting area and a verandah that leads into the garden. The rooms and these specific suites are all en-suite with a lovely walk-in shower.

The four Deluxe Suites are 1080 sq feet in size and comprise a super king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi and a verandah leads into the garden with an ocean view. The one Premier Suite is 1185 sq feet and has a super king-size bed with mosquito netting around it. There is a lounge and dining area and the en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower and a jacuzzi bath. The verandah leads out into the garden and has an ocean view.

Game Viewing / Activities

Guests can enjoy many wonderful water activities such as windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing at an additional cost. There is horse riding and beach walks, as well as beach volleyball and tennis on offer. A game of golf can be played at nearby Malindi Golf and Country Club.

A safari to Tsavo East National Park can be arranged, a two-hour drive away. The Gede Ruins are 10 miles away and the Vasco da Gama Pillar is two and a half miles away. Guests can visit the Malindi Museum or simply relax at the resort’s inviting swimming pool.
