Arusha Day Safaris
Arusha Day Safaris, Arusha is the center of safaris in Tanzania’s beautiful national parks. From this busy, green city, it’s easy to get to the many nearby parks that are famous for their huge shows of interesting wildlife. We chose four great parks that are close enough to Arusha to make a full day of safari fun. Each has changing scenery and a wide range of interesting animals. All of these one-day trips offer a unique chance to see nature and wildlife right in front of your eyes. From the giraffes in Arusha National Park to the elephants in Tarangire to the lions, leopards, and flamingos in Ngorongoro Crater, there is something for everyone.
Mountains, savannas, and lakes can be found in Arusha National Park.
It only takes 90 minutes to get to this park from the city of Arusha. It is famous for its lakes, mountains, moorlands, jungle, savannahs, and different kinds of wildlife. It is also home to a huge number of giraffes. In what other park can you climb an active volcano (Mt. Meru) and boat through several lakes with blue and green algae? A waterbuck, a bull, a warthog, a dik-dik, and many other animals will be on your list.
Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact caldera in the world.
There are more than 25,000 animals living in the big blue-green bowl of this huge volcanic crater. There are lions, leopards, elephants, and even pink flamingos that live in this world that is separate from the rest of the land. To get to the grasslands, lakes, springs, and woods in a place that time forgot, you’ll have to drive your 4×4 Jeep down the steep crater walls. This is where thousands of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, buffalo, and big cats hang out.
A Bright Surprise at Lake Manyara National Park Lions that Climb Trees? Monkeys in blue? Flamingos in pink? If you want to get away to a park with lots of different animals, Lake Manyara is the place to go. Thousands of pink flamingos come to the blue, alkaline lake to eat along the shore. And yes, there are unique lions that rest in the acacia trees and climb trees. Many baboons, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impala, and warthogs live in the area and keep those unique predators company.
Tarangire National Park has a lot of elephants and not many tourists.
Take our day trip to Tarangire Park if you want to get away to a place with few people but a lot of wildlife. It has the second-highest number of animals in Tanzania. There are over 700 cats and 3,000 elephants in this area. But the scenery here is just as beautiful.
There are big, dramatic stands of old baobab trees, some of which are 30 m (98 feet) tall and reach high into the African sky. And big, scary termite mounds pop up out of the park’s wide plains, showing that there is a lot of life in this one-of-a-kind area.
