Rwanda & Uganda Combo Gorilla Trek

Drive from Kigali, Gorilla Trek in Uganda (Mgahinga), and return to Kigali for Departure

Day 1 – Arrival

Arrive at Kigali International Airport and meet your Safari Driver Guide from Adventure In The Wild Safaris for a welcome and briefing. Depending on arrival time, relax at the hotel or take part in a Kigali City visit.

Day 2 – Drive to Kisoro Town, Uganda via Cyanika Border (145kms / 3hrs)

After breakfast, enjoy a Kigali city tour including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Then, drive through the scenic northern Rwanda countryside with photo stops, eventually crossing into Uganda via Cyanika border. Arrive in Kisoro town for overnight.

Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking in Uganda (Mgahinga National Park)

Early breakfast and transfer for the gorilla trek at Mgahinga National Park. Encounter one of the largest and oldest gorilla families. Spend 1 hour with the gorillas before trekking back. After lunch at the hotel, enjoy an afternoon visit to the local village.

Day 4 – Return to Rwanda via Twin Lakes Visit (115kms / 2hrs)

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Rwanda. En route, visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo—renowned for their deep blue waters, surrounding hills, and stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes. Enjoy a lake-side lunch at Ruhondo Beach Resort, accessed via a boat transfer across Lake Ruhondo. Continue with a scenic drive back to Kigali for overnight stay.

Day 5 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure with Adventure In The Wild Safaris.
