Lake Manyara National Park Day Tour

Lake Manyara National Park Day Tour, Leave from and return to your hotel in the Arusha area, your home, or the airport. We’ll pick you up at 7:00 am in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep for a full-day tour.Ernest Hemingway said it was “the loveliest I had seen in Africa” because it was small but so inviting. Lake Manyara National Park is a great place to spend a day because it has a lot of different kinds of animals and a beautiful scenery.

Picture huge groups of pink flamingos sitting along the edge of a blue, alkaline lake. Also, lions could be seen in the acacia trees above! Yes, the park does have some very special tree-climbing cats that you won’t find anywhere else.

You would be wrong to think that a small park like Manyara doesn’t have a lot of different kinds of animals to see. Because you will see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impala, blue monkeys, leopards, and warthogs on this day trip. And if you like baboons, you’re in the right place. Lake Manyara may have the most baboons of any park in Africa.

Of course, the most famous birds here are the thousands of pink flamingos that eat along the lakeshore, but the park is home to more than 390 different kinds of birds. There are a lot of pelicans moving around with the famous flamingos. You can be sure to see birds like egrets, cormorants, storks, spoonbills, and more in the lake’s acidic water.

But the park’s dense, green forests are also home to many birds, such as crowned eagles, guinea fowl, and golden cheeked hornbills.

When you picture your safari, you probably don’t think about butterflies. But you should, because their color and movement make the natural surroundings so much more interesting. These short-lived creatures come in over 180 different types.

In some parks, you can’t get out of your Jeep and get close to the plants and animals. But here at Manyara, you can go on walking tours to get a more personal experience.

At the park’s northern end, we’ll find a pool with hippos and a number of hot springs that we didn’t expect to see. You can eat lunch here and watch the hippos move around at the same time.

Want to look down at the park and its busy animals from high up in the trees? One can climb up Tanzania’s first raised treetop walkway and get a great view of the woods and animals below.
