Your tour begins at Samburu National Reserve, under the shadow of Mt. Kenya. Encounter rare species like oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and reticulated giraffe, plus elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and hundreds of birds. Explore Samburu culture at local villages.
Next, Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers black rhinos and a chimpanzee sanctuary, along with exotic species such as tree hyrax, white-tailed mongoose, black-fronted duiker, and elands.
Aberdare National Park is an upcountry rainforest retreat with high waterfalls, lush moors, and thick forests. Stay at a unique tree hotel and view wildlife from your balcony, including buffalo, black rhinos, spotted hyenas, and occasionally black leopards.
Lake Nakuru National Park is famed for flamingos, black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and the Great Rift Valley landscapes.
The Masai Mara is Kenya’s crown jewel, home to immense herds, the Big Five, and stunning savannah vistas. At the Mara River, observe hippos, crocodiles, and during July–October, witness the Great Migration.
Lake Naivasha and surroundings offer boat rides to view hippos and birds, walking safaris at Crescent Island, and Hell’s Gate National Park for safe hikes or bicycle rides past grazing wildlife.

12-Day Kenya Safari Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve (320 km – Approx. 5 hrs)
Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
0730hrs: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Nairobi airport. Depart Nairobi and proceed to Samburu Game Reserve.
Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Spend the day on game viewing drives at Samburu. Options include combining the Samburu, Buffalo Springs, and Shaba reserves. Game viewing concentrates along the Ewaso Nyiro River, lifeline of this semi-desert environment.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve – Ol Pejeta (180 km – Approx. 3 hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Early morning game drive in Samburu, then depart for Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary near Mount Kenya and Laikipia. Afternoon game drives include opportunities to see rhinos and chimpanzees.
Day 4: Mount Kenya – Aberdare National Park (80 km – Approx. 1 hr)

Morning game drives around Ol Pejeta, then proceed to Aberdare National Park. Afternoon transfer to a unique tree hotel.
Day 5: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park (180 km – Approx. 4 hrs)

Travel to Lake Nakuru with a stop at Thompson Falls in Nyahururu. Afternoon bird watching and game drives. Lake Nakuru hosts flamingos, other birds, and a black and white rhino sanctuary.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara Game Reserve (290 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Morning bird and game viewing, then drive to Masai Mara with stops at scenic points. Afternoon game viewing upon arrival.
Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day of game viewing. Traverse the Masai Mara reserve encountering the Big Five and other wildlife. Visit the Mara River to watch hippos, crocodiles, or witness the Great Migration (July–October).

Morning game drives in Masai Mara. Depart for Lake Naivasha. Afternoon visit to Hell’s Gate National Park for hiking and bicycle rides.

Morning boat safari at Lake Naivasha to view hippos, exotic birds, and small game. Guided walking safari at Crescent Island. Later transfer to Amboseli National Park. Afternoon game viewing.
Day 10: Amboseli National Park

Full day of game drives with time to relax. Early morning, mid-morning, and afternoon drives. Between sessions, relax at the lodge or camp. Safari vehicle and driver/guide available for unlimited game drives.
Day 11: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park (100 km – Approx. 2 hrs)

Morning game drive at Amboseli with views of Mt. Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). Proceed to Tsavo West National Park. Enjoy scenery and game viewing drives.
Day 12: Tsavo West – Nairobi (250 km – Approx. 4 hrs)

Game drives in Tsavo West. Visit Mzima Springs to view hippos, crocodiles, and exotic fish. Return to Nairobi to conclude the safari.
