On this Adventure In The Wild Safaris experience, you’ll explore the red soil plains of Tsavo East National Park, searching for big cats and large herds of elephants. We’ll visit natural watering holes – the lifeline for the region’s wildlife – where hippos, crocodiles and colorful birdlife abound.

We’ll then continue to the scenic Tsavo West National Park with its green rolling hills, volcanic features, and varied savannah. Discover Mzima Springs, a lush oasis home to hippos, crocodiles, fish, and a wide variety of birds. You’ll also visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, where endangered black rhinos roam under protection.

2 Days Tsavo East & Tsavo West Safari Itinerary

Day 1

MALINDI/WATAMU – TSAVO EAST (120 KMS – Approx. 2-3 hours)

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be up early for a busy safari day, traveling along the Malindi – Sala Gate Road. Enjoy a picturesque drive along the Kenyan countryside as we make our way to the vast plains of Tsavo East National Park.

Once inside the park, we’ll start our game viewing experience in a customized pop-up roof Adventure In The Wild Safaris 4×4 Safari Jeep. Look out for red-dusted elephants, graceful giraffes, lions near watering holes, and herds of buffalo roaming the savannah. We’ll enjoy lunch and continue with game drives through the scenic wilderness until evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 2

TSAVO WEST – MALINDI/WATAMU (240 KMS – Approx. 5-6 hours)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll rise with the sun for our second safari day, eager to witness the animals beginning their day in the golden light of dawn. This is a magical time in Tsavo West National Park, and we’ll take full advantage with a morning game drive to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and many more creatures of the bush.

After breakfast at our lodge or camp, we’ll continue exploring, tracking the “Big Five” and many other fascinating species like impala, hartebeest, monkeys, baboons, and even the elusive bushbaby.

One of the day’s highlights is a visit to Mzima Springs, a green oasis fed by underground water from Mount Kilimanjaro. Here we’ll enjoy a guided walking safari along the banks, where hippos, crocodiles, fish, and vibrant birdlife abound. There’s even an underwater viewing chamber to watch hippos in their natural aquatic world.

After this refreshing visit, we’ll continue our search for elephants across the park’s rolling terrain before beginning our journey back to the Kenya coast. We’ll return to Malindi or Watamu with wonderful memories of two incredible days on safari.
