Wildebeest Calving Safari (Mid December – Mid March)
Starts Arusha / Ends Arusha – We’ll pick you up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in your own private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep.
Want to be swept up in the drama of the Great Wildebeest Migration? To witness not only the immense herds on their timeless trek but also the magical spectacle of thousands giving birth? During this safari, you’ll see up to 500,000 newborn wildebeest dropped onto the vast plains of the Ndutu Area.
In a specially customized open-sided 4×4 safari jeep including a cooler box, long-range high-frequency radio, AC power outlets, first aid kit, and a professional multilingual guide, you’ll experience unforgettable moments in the wild.
This season, from December to March, brings forth not just baby wildebeests, but also zebra, gazelle, and more — all taking their first steps. As the grazers birth their young, predators are also active feeding themselves and their cubs, giving rise to breathtaking scenes of life, survival, and instinct.
When spring and summer arrive, the young join their elders in heading northward on the next leg of the great migration, moving in the tens of thousands through the Serengeti, the world’s largest wildlife movement.
