You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the excitement of Kenya’s wildlife and the variety of its landscapes in this active adventure safari. Your guide/driver will expertly share with you the highlights of 3 of Kenya’s premier game parks.

Thrill to The Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant, plus rare species like the Somali ostrich, gerenuk and oryx. Topping it off you will delight to a fantastic assortment of birdlife including pelicans and flamingos.

If you wish, you can meet native African people such as the Maasai, with trips to their villages to learn about their lives and culture. In 6 days, you will experience the best that Kenya has to offer.

Starting out, you’ll head over the central highlands, viewing coffee, tea, sisal and pineapple plantations, complete with startling views of Mt. Kenya. Then, on to Samburu National Reserve. This sun-draped park offers a wonderful variety of unusual game like the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Plus, opportunities to view more commonly known wildlife like leopard, cheetah, lion and buffalo.

Moving on we’ll stop to take in the drama of 74 m high Thompson Falls at Nyahururu.

We then arrive at one of the most beautiful of Kenyan parks, Lake Nakuru National Park. Due to some progressive natural factors like increasing water levels, the flamingo numbers have been reducing, but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake.

The few quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy and full of color.

Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore. The park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino. So get your camera ready!

Your 6-day safari adventure next brings you up close to the richest eco-system in the natural world – the Masai Mara. You’ll enjoy plenty of large and small wildlife on the great acacia-accented savannah here.

You’ll visit the Mara River – site of numerous hippo and crocodile. During the migration season (July – October) you’ll witness thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and zebra crossing the river.

As a special finale to your safari, there will be an opportunity to visit with and learn about the Maasai people with an optional visit to their village.
